Update billing info - Forcing me to upgrade plan..

I have tried to update my billing info, which appears to save, however it then directs me to the plan configuration page and wont let me continue unless I select an upgraded plan. Which I do not need.

This is obviously a bug or pretty low tactic to force plan upgrades.

There should be an option to retry payment method, or an option to have multiple payment methods.

I do not wish to lose access to my account, but i'm also not going to be pushed into an upgrade I dont need.

Any solutions for this?

    Hey Josh Harvey, let's jump right into this!

    Just to make sure we're on the same page here, it sounds like you wish to update your billing info on your Plus plan, right? If not, feel free to correct me. 

    Do you try to change the billing information for your Dropbox Plus account, using the Manage account page and then clicking Update next to your current payment method?

    If so, then have you tried a different browser, by any chance?

    I have tried updating my billing information via everyway possible including on a different browser, yet it still takes me to the plan configuration page and then forces me to upgrade to proceed.

    Hey Josh Harvey - sorry to hear this persists.

    Could you send us a screenshot of the last screen you can get to or the error you see on your end so that we can have a visual too?

    Odd. And you wish to change your billing info to a new one, right?

    I'm just trying to see if maybe the info you have in the account is the same as the one you're trying to update it to, hence this behavior.

    To resolve the issue of being forced to upgrade when updating billing info:

    1. Retry Payment Info: Double-check and re-enter your details.
    2. Contact Support: Report the issue and request to retain your current plan.
    3. Request Options: Ask for a retry payment or multiple payment method options.

    Feedback: Platforms should allow billing updates without requiring plan upgrades or unnecessary navigation.
