Desktop app online-only settings have changed on my Windows machine
How might Dropbox (225.4.4896 on Windows 11) have turned off its automatic system start up and set all its new files to be online-only?
Hi gherson, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
In general, it shouldn't be possible for this to happen automatically, unless there was some sort of update which erased the previous settings somehow.
Are you experiencing this each time you boot up your machine, or was this a one-time event?
This will help me to assist further!

Hi Jay, thanks for quick reply and answering my question. I.e., I had a situation of unknown causality.
To answer your question, my issue of Dropbox not starting began recently, I believe. (Either while trialing your Microsoft and Google competitors or trying to get NoxPlayer to start).
Since my post, I'm noticing that every one of my Dropbox files, even from 2016, was set to online-only. How that happened is also unknown to me. I've never been low on disk space on my Dropbox'ed machines, and would have noted and remembered making that change to online-only in any case.
To fix, in File Explorer I right-clicked the blue Dropbox icon on the left then clicked Dropbox - make available offline. And that's taking effect quickly now, I can see in Sync.
