Is it possible to retrieve or recover a very old Dropbox account?

Hello,

I had a very OLD account here at Dropbox, probably over 15 years. Now I don't quite recall the exact user name and password.

Can you please let me know if it is in any way possible that we can retrieve that account, as I have my old photos stored there.

Please let me know if you can help me with this

Thank you

Hi SystemAli, thanks for posting today.

In general, if you haven't accessed a Dropbox account for over 12 months, then it would've been deactivated automatically due to inactivity.

The username used to log in to a Dropbox account would just be a normal email address. Do you have any other email addresses that you use, and if so, have you tried to reset the password for those potential Dropbox accounts?

Keep me updated with any progress!

    Hello Jay,

Thank you so very much for your prompt response. vividly remember my email address as I have not been using those IDs either, as it was either on Yahoo or Hotmail, and I am not using either of them now.

I can tell you,  my email address had my NAME in it "furquan" but i think it also had something in the end....not sure what, as i don't recall my email address either.

if there is anything else that can help me retrieve my account, kindly ask me for it.

Looking forward to your positive response.

    Thank you

Hey SystemAli - when was the last time you remember accessing that particular account? Have you tried your email addresses to log in or searching your inboxes for an email from Dropbox?

    Hey Walter,

Thank you for your response. As I have mentioned earlier, it was over a decade and a half since I probably accessed my account and since i have not been using those email ids that i had used for creating this account, i think it was [removed per the Community's Guidelines].

I have switched to Gmail since its advent and hence have never used the other id's.

    Thank you for everything.

In that case, I'm afraid it's most likely deleted by now due to inactivity as Jay mentioned SystemAli

I wish I had a better answer than this, but I hope this clarifies.

Please let me know if you have anything else to ask.

    Shh.......

I thought but.....have to live with that now, since I have damaged my OLD HDD., I thought I may get it from here.....

Nonetheless, some things are not meant to happen...

Thank you, everyone, for all your time and assistance.

    Chao.
