Dropbox folder in Ventura public folder, won't delete. Why?

After deleting the Dropbox desktop app per the instructions on the Dropbox website, the Dropbox folder in the Public area remains and will not delete. When trying to delete or drag to the trash can, it states that the folder cannot be deleted because it is needed by Mac OS.  Why does Mac OS need a folder for the deleted Dropbox app?  Please advise how to delete.  Thank you, Dan

Hi @jestdan, this isn't related to our Dropbox service, but is in fact a completely separate Mac OS feature known as Drop Box.

You can read up more about it here

Hi @jestdan, happy Monday!

It'll sound trivial, but could you try restarting your device, and then try to delete the folder again?

If you get the same error again, could you take a screenshot and send it back to me, so I can have visual too?

Keep me posted!

Hello Megan,
Thank you for responding to my request/post.
The computer has been restarted multiple times without success.
Here is the screenshot of the Dropbox folder that won’t leave the Public Folder after deleting the desktop app.
I appreciate your attention and assistance.
Be Well,
Dan
