Apps and Installations

I'm trying to install Dropbox on Linux Mint 20 (derivative of Ubuntu). I installed the package and it installed what appears to be a partial installer. When I run the app that's in the menu, it then proceeds to install the actual Dropbox. Now Dropbox appears in the system tray. The next stop is to sign in. This brings me to Firefox where I login and get a link code. I copy it. Then that's it. I'm stuck with a link code that has no place to go. Attempting to sign in again just brings me back to Firefox.
I found a workaround. I ssh'ed into the computer and ran Dropbox on the command line as
~/.dropbox-dist/dropbox-lnx.x86_64-114.4.426/dropbox
This causes it supply the link, which I copied and pasted into a browser (on another machine) and once that's done, it lets you pick which account and it automatically does the linking.
But there seem to be two bugs here. One that the GUI version of the Dropbox installer quits after launching the browser so there's no place to paste it and incorrectly misidentifies Linux Mint as not being Ubuntu (that may even be causing the first issue).

like so
This has nowhere to go. The installer launches the web link and then quits. It doesn't hang around for me to paste the link code in. Also, the installer thinks essentially incorrectly that I'm not running Ubuntu. That's a bug. Mint is close enough to Ubuntu that it should recognize it as that.

in my case running it from command line does not let me paste the copied link, so I'm stuck
Hey @ssrrgg, sorry to jump in here, but could you provide some additional details about the issue you're facing?

I installed dropbox in my Ubuntu 18.04, via command line as described in "Dropbox Headless Install via command line". Then followed the instructions to login online and received a code to insert in the app. No screen or GUI appeared to insert the code, neither the messages in the terminal telling me to insert the code.
I also tried the installation/launch of the dropbox app as described above but there is no location to insert the code and the messages in the terminal are:
