Documents not opening and showing errors like: "The File 'name' couldn't be opened' for Preview".

Application Affected

Device

Operating System/Browser (if using the web)

Dropbox App Version (if using the app)
N/A

Question or Issue
We are a work team and one computer cannot open PDF, Word, Excel and other  documents that we collaborate on Dropbox. We have tried opening in Preview and in Adobe Reader but both cannot open it. Errors are: 'The File 'name' couldn't be opened' for Preview. 'There was an error opening this document. This file cannot be found' for Adobe Reader. Documents are in shared folders.

We urgently need this working for our team as its brought the work to a standstill. Reinstalling dropbox on the same computer doesnt help. Same user account.

Some seemed to have permissions set to read only / view which I changed as admin to write as well but this didnt fix anything. We also gave Full Disk Access from System Settings / Preferences to Dropbox but this didn't help.

Hey Himanshu T., let's see what we can find together about this!

The files you're referring to, are they available offline or online-only? You can see more about that here

If you have any step-by-step screenshots of what you described -and especially the error you see when trying to open your content- feel free to send them over, in order for me to have a visual too.

Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!
