Hi, I’m new member of this group and new user of Dropbox. My question is maybe appear very childish, but is only showing my poor experience with the new tool.

I have very many duplicate pictures and videos, I don’t understand the reason way. 
is safety to erase the duplicates?

how can I avoid in the future to get duplicates and use more storage than necessary ?

Hi @boidache55, welcome to our Community! 

 

In order for us to get to the bottom as to how and why the duplicates were created, we need to check how you usually upload content to your Dropbox account. 

 

Which platform did you use on your end: mobile app, website or our desktop app? As for the duplicates, yes, it would be safe for you to delete them, and keep one version of the files.

Thanks Megan for your replay. I have used the app on the mobile, but I have saved many pictures from WhatsApp and probably they have been uploaded automatically, and some already was saved since earlier. Not sure. Anyhow, it’s helping a lot to know that is save to clean the duplicates.
