Size discrepancy between Dropbox and the content in my drive.
When i look at one of my folders online it says about 840gb.
Meanwhile on my external drive locally the file is 874.94 GB
How come this large discrepancy. It makes me worried to have my files on dropbox if there may be files left unsynced.
It is entirely synced however i recently renamed the folder and im waiting for dropbox to say "synced" before proceeding.

Dropbox has hidden files and folders on the Dropbox directory as a hidden cache that helps with the download and upload of large files. As long as it shows all uploaded and no errors you should be good to go.
If you want to be sure do a random check of some files in directories to make sure they appear online and on computer.
