Dropbox app not recognizing external SSD for backup on Mac computer

I am running MacBook pro m3 max with sequoia 15.3.1 and want to backup a Samsung T7 external SSD formatted APFS encrypted, has 1 file in it 50MB. Dropbox will not recognize the drive, I have tried reformatting, quitting dropbox and signing out of dropbox. Any help welcome as otherwise the backup feature is next to useless for me.

Hey RP15, thanks for your post today.

If your external drive is encrypted APFS, I'm afraid that it's not supported.

On Mac computers you can backup HFS+, APFS, exFAT and FAT32 formatted drives.

I hope this clarifies things, but if you still have questions, don't hesitate to let me know.

    Thanks.
