How can I use my previous email for a new account?

Hello,

I started with a new company a few weeks ago and I was given a work email to sign up for Dropbox. But me being stupid, I signed up for the wrong type of dropbox account. So I went ahead and disabled it on my own.

Now I want to create a personal dropbox account with that same work email that I accidentally used to make a business account with that is now disabled. But it won't let me sign up for a new account as it keeps directing me to log in to the disabled account. How can I make a new account then with my work email? I really could use some help in this manner. Thanks.

Hi cyberspire09, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

When you say you disabled the account on your own, did you follow these steps to delete the account, or something else?

What happens when you try to register the new account from this page?

Any other info or screenshots (while hiding the email address) would be helpful!

So this is what I got when I clicked on the link to log in/sign up, and since I don’t remember my password I went to try and reset my password and this red message underneath pops up.

as for the steps to delete my account, I followed the steps to deactivate the entire business account and it gave me a message that I can re-use the work email I used to make the business account after 7 days. But now it’s not giving me that option and I don’t know what to do or how to fix it.

Thanks for the info, I’d recommend getting in contact with our support team directly to look into this matter in more detail.

You can do this by opening an incognito/private browsing window, while not signed into your account, and accessing this link

From there you should be able to contact support. Make sure to enter an email to which you can receive and send emails from.

I’ve tried contacting support before and it won’t let me do it based on the type of account I have. Is there like a phone number I can call to directly talk to contact support on this matter?

Hey cyberspire09, phone support is only available to paid Business teams at the moment.

To log a ticket with our support team, you’ll need to open another browser on your computer (or even an incognito window on your current browser) and log a ticket from this page, while NOT being signed in to ANY Dropbox account.

So I did as you said and I am unable to log a ticket at all based off what I’m seeing here. I can’t do anything at all, what am I supposed to do now?

It looks like you're still logged into a Dropbox account somehow.

Please could you try using an incognito window, or a different browser entirely, and access this page

So I’m on a private window and I’m logged out and the link I was given directs me to here. This is starting to become very unhelpful, how do I log a ticket from here?

Use this link in order to submit a query, which follows the lowest option there. Make sure that the email address you type is one you can access normally.
