A file that appears in the desktop tray window on my taskbar is not in my Dropbox account
I opened the Dropbox icon that appears in the hidden icons section of the taskbar and found a file that I did not recognize. It was an .exe file! I tried several times over several days to delete the file but the only option I was offered was to "open" the file. When I "open" this file Dropbox says it uploaded by someone I don't recognize but appears to be related to program I occasionally run.
How do I get rid of this file.

Hey Dropinanytime, thanks for your post.
.exe files are executable files that contain more or less instructions that the system executes when you click on them; they are necessary to install programs, for example.
Are you able to see this file in your local Dropbox folder or your account online?
If you can find it online and check the version history to see the device it's been added from, is it a device you own or someone else's?
Let me know and we'll go from there.
