How to Safely Manage Photos Between Dropbox and iPhone?
Hi everyone,
I use Dropbox to back up and organize my photos, but I’m having some trouble managing them with my iPhone Photos app. I recently noticed that when I delete a photo from Dropbox, it also gets deleted from my iPhone Photos app, which I didn’t expect.
Here are my questions:
- How can I delete photos from Dropbox without affecting the photos saved on my iPhone?
- Is there a way to stop Dropbox from syncing deletions with my iPhone?
- Can I keep using Dropbox as a backup while ensuring my iPhone photos remain safe and unaffected?
I’m a professional photographer specializing in headshots Cary, and branding, so keeping my photos secure and well-organized is really important for my work. If anyone has experienced this issue or knows how to fix it, I’d appreciate your advice!
Thank you in advance for your help!

That isnt how the Dropbox apps work - its a very common complaint that they dont work like this actually.
Are you using the official Dropbox app to sync your files?

Another question here, are you backing up your photo library via Camera Uploads on their phone or via backing up their photos folder on their computer? This would help us figure out what is happening.
