Dropbox warning about my space is blocking the MS Word interface (online)
I have encountered an issue with Dropbox when using Microsoft Word (Online editing). When my Dropbox storage is nearly full, a warning message appears below stating:
“You only have xxx MB of space left in Dropbox”, with a button labeled “Close”.
The problem is that:
- The warning message remains visible even after clicking the “Close” button.
- It overlays the bottom part of the Word window, covering important elements such as footnotes and the footer section.
- This severely affects document editing and overall usability.
Since the message cannot be dismissed and it blocks critical parts of the Word interface, it significantly disrupts my workflow.
Is there any way to disable this/how can I report this to Dropbox technical support?

Can you post a screenshot of it here?

Or here and include things like OS version, Dropbox version and Word version

Have you tried a different browser? How about clearing cache and cookies and making sure your resolution is at 100%?
What browser/version is it?

I have tried with Chrome and Edge, same problem. Tried clearing cache, does not help, and resolution is at 100 %. E.g., Chrome version is 137.0.7151.120 (Official Build) (64-bit) (I have automatic update, so it should always be the latest one).

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, MN12.
Does this happen with all Office files?
And does it happen only with existing files or when creating new documents as well?

Those are, technically, the same browser. They're both based on Chromium so if there's a display issue with one, you'll often have the same issue with the other. If I have an issue in one of those, I usually test in Firefox.

Is your window maximized? Also, you said your resolution is at 100%. What about the zoom level of your browser? Hold CTRL and move your mouse wheel. Does that change the positioning of the message at all?

Window is maximized. If either the browser zoom or the Dropbox Web-Word zoom is being used, the banner naturally moves differently, but the banner does not disappear. For example, when Web-Word zooms is 150%, the banner does not hide footnotes buttons, but 150% zoom is impractical otherwise + it does not remove the bug in question, i.e. the "close" button on the banner should work, and the banner should be removed by pushing the close button (see the screenshot above).
I would not like to install a third browser that I never use only because of this bug. It would be desirable that if the bug occurs in two different browsers (even based on the same tech), it would be enough to show that the bug in question should be fixed.
